Adapted from the 1974 original film of the same name by MGM, the movie focuses on Paul Kersey, a surgeon living in Chicago, who realizes that the city he calls home is plagued by violence and inhumanity, with his wife and daughter falling victim to it. With the police force unable to contain all the criminals in the city, this is when Paul decides to seek vengeance and become a hero. In a quest for justice, he takes matters into his own hands, dispensing his own brand of vigilante justice to make the city a safer place for all its inhabitants.
